Give your artwork a direction before generating
Use mood, composition and a clear focal point to make cover artwork feel connected to the music.

Ovar Field Notes · Artwork
An attractive image is not automatically the right cover. Artwork needs to introduce the world of the record while remaining recognisable at a small size. The most useful starting point is a visual brief that connects the song to a few deliberate decisions.
Describe a scene, not a pile of adjectives
Specify the subject, the setting, the light and the framing. Then explain the emotional intention. Use references to discuss composition and atmosphere rather than asking to reproduce another artist’s identity.
Test the smallest version
Check whether the focal point and title remain clear when the cover becomes a thumbnail. Remove details that compete with the main idea. A simpler composition often gives a song a stronger visual signature.
Try this with Ovar
Develop three cover directions for a reflective single about reconciliation. For each, describe the subject, lighting, palette and negative space. Avoid logos, imitation album covers and unnecessary text.
Take it into your next session
Treat generation as the start of editing. Review the result, refine the brief and check the final artwork against your distributor’s requirements.
