Start with a feeling, not a finished brief
A practical way to turn an uncertain musical idea into a clear creative direction with Ovar.

Ovar Field Notes · Creative direction
A song can begin with a feeling you cannot quite name. Before deciding on a genre, a visual identity or a release strategy, describe the moment that made you want to create. A voice note, a sentence and a memory are enough to begin a useful conversation.
Find the emotional centre
Write down what happened, how it felt and what you want the listener to carry away. Ask Ovar to reflect the differences between those three things. Keep the language that sounds like you and discard anything that makes the idea feel more generic.
Give the idea boundaries
Choose one audience, one emotional shift and one thing the song should avoid. These constraints make the next decision easier: the opening lyric, the mood of the artwork or the tone of a release caption.
Try this with Ovar
Help me explore a song about returning home after a difficult season. Ask me three questions before suggesting a direction. Keep the language intimate and avoid motivational clichés.
Take it into your next session
Save a short creative brief before moving into lyrics or visuals. It should be specific enough to guide your work and flexible enough to change when the music surprises you.
